Systematic feedback analysis by IQAC

Implementation of the approved proposals by the college authority through proper mechanism and official procedure (as per prevailing rules and regulations)

BUILDING

Rammohan College is operating from two campus, 102/1, Raja Rammohan Sarani and 85A, Raja Rammohan Sarani. The old building (102/1, R.R. Sarani) has been shared by three different Colleges and the New Science Building (85A, R.R. Sarani) is College’s own building.

CCTV SURVEILANCE SYSTEM AND SAFETY

Both 102/1, Raja Rammohan Sarani and 85 A, Raja Rammohan Sarani is under constant surveillance of CCTV, which has been closely monitored by Principal, Rammohan College, herself. The recorders are password locked and can store 15 days day & night recording data in hard disc. The system is having backup power supply, so that it can work for 24 hours, the CCTV are with Infrared (Night Vision) capability.

SPECIAL INFRASTRUCTURE FOR DIFFERENTIALLY ABLED

Rammohan College is determined to cater education to every student with highest possible facilities. The shared building has no scope for modification but the New Science Building is equipped with various support systems for differentially-abled. 40% of total campus is barrier free. The facilities are:

LABORATORIES

Laboratories in Rammohan College are of three (3) types, one for Regular Classes and another for “Special Teaching & Research” and lastly “Computer Laboratory” with Internet Facility.

SPECIALIZED LABORATORY AND ANIMAL HOUSE

Rammohan College Developed a Specialized Central Instrument Facility from WB DST BOOST Grant (No.1087/BT(Estt)/1P-19/2018. Dt.26/10/2019), RUSA 2.0 and College is also having Animal House Facility (Reg. No. 1795/PO/Re/S/14/CPCSEA, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India).

Rammohan College provides well equipped Gymnasium and trainer for students. 40% students are regular visitors of Gymnasium.

INFRASTRUCTURE FOR SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT

WEATHER STATION, DEPARTMENT OF GEOGRAPHY

Department of Geography, Rammohan College maintains a Weather Station since September1, 2023 at New Science Building Campus in association with Indian Meteorological Department, Kolkata. It is very unique as the first educational institute with such facilities in North Kolkata. At present, this mini weather station is capable of measuring maximum and minimum temperature, relative humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind direction and rainfall data and this information are regularly updated in college website.

IN COLLABORATION WITH IISER, KOLKATA, AQI MACHINE HAS BEEN INSTALLED. RESEARCH ON AQI AND ITS EFFECT ON ANIMALS ARE GOING ON.

In Collaboration with Professor Punyasloke Bhadury, Centre for Climate and Environmental Studies, IISER, Kolkata, PM2.5 Monitor has been installed for Kolkata Air.

RAIN WATER HARVEST SYSTEM

Rammohan College conserves “Rain Water” through a “Rain Water Harvest System” of 13500L Capacity. This water has been used for gardening, training fishery science and R&D. The actual conservation capacity is near about 60,000L as because; the water is also continuously used for various purposes. The main purpose of installation of “Rain Water Harvest System” is to reduce “Ground Water Depletion & Help to Increase Water Table”.

CONSERVATION OF SOLAR ENERGY FOR CARBON CREDIT

Green and clean energy was the mandate of Kyoto Protocol. The college has installed Solar Energy panel (Total Capacity 10KW) and operation all electrical appliances in the 3^rd and 4^th floor of New Science Building with help of RUSA 2.0 Fund. The CARBON CREDIT earned by college, has been calculated in “Green Audit” report (2018-2023).
Rammohan College emphasize on use of LED Light and Energy Efficient Electrical Appliances to conserve energy and reduce carbon emission at source.

E WASTE MANAGEMENT SUPPORT INFRASTRUCTURE

World produce 360 Billion Tons of Waste, only 16% is recycled. E waste specially contains heavy metals viz. Ni, Cd, Pb etc. Rammohan College prefers to use recycled goods, as and when it is possible, to reduce pollution load. The college has special infrastructure arrangement for this purpose. The College believes, “Recycling is Re-life”.

INFRASTRUCTURE TO SUPPORT STUDENTS AWARNESS ABOUT ENVIRONMENT IMPACT ASSESMENT AND SUSTANABLE DEVELOPMENT

Every year students of Rammohan College perform some work towards betterment of environment. College has a support system for this purpose, both in terms of financial and quality manpower.

ARTIFICIAL POND FOR ECOSYSTEM STUDY

Artificial Ecosystem, specially aquatic ecosystem and food chain study is an integral part of the syllabus. The College is having two specially designed ponds, one round and other square for the study of “Food Chain Dynamics” in Aquatic Ecosystem.

INFRASTRUCTURE TO SUPPORT TEACHING AND LEARNING

Rammohan College Central Library, Post Graduate Library and Departmental Seminar Library is having huge collections of books. The Library has implemented RFID system and KOHA software. Library is totally Wi-Fi enabled.

CANTEEN

Old building is having 3 canteens for students, teachers and others staffs. By utilizing the fund received from RUSA 2.0, a new canteen has been opened in New Science Building which is spacious, catering various cuisines and offering daylong services. The Canteen is run by a lady, belongs to “self help” group, recommended by local Councilor. By giving “infrastructural facilities to her, for her livelihood” Rammohan College is trying to extend help to local community.

SPECIAL INFRASTRUCTURE
Sports Physiology is an emerging area in Physiology, throughout the World. The College is having one well equipped Laboratory on sports physiology as per Sports Authority of India (SAI) standard.

RAMMOHAN COLLEGE AS INCUBATION CENTRE

In Collaboration with ENEA, Italy, Rammohan College is engaged in development of one “Artificial Intelligence” based “Digital Key” for Teaching & Learning process. The College has developed one website: www.lacewingsofwestbengal.in
