Facilities

At present, there are six well-equipped laboratories existing in the department for

” Experimental and Work Physiology”,

“Biochemistry and Nutrition”,

“Histology and Microbiology”,

 “Sports and Exercise Physiology”,

“Computer and IT”

 along with a separate “Research laboratory”.

 

In addition to the routine laboratory instruments/equipments, several sophisticated instruments have been procured for the benefit of the both UG and PG students from UGC Regular/Additional grants, RUSA grants, Research projects and PG fund. Some of those may be mentioned here:-

  2. Rotary Evaporator.
  3. Soxhlet apparatus
  4. Cold centrifuge.
  5. (-18°C) refrigerator
  6. Treadmill.
  7. Cycle Ergometer
  8. Lux meter
  9. Digital Spirometer.
  10. ECG Machine
  11. Noise level meter
  12. Audiometer
  13. UV-VIS Spectrophotometer
  14. Trinocular Microscope with Digital camera
  15. Fluorescent microscope

 

 

The supervisors and research scholars have jointly published more than 25 original research articles in various national and international indexed journals of repute.

The teachers received grants for running research projects from the following funding agencies:-

  1. University Grants Commission (UGC) Major Research Project.
  2. of Science and Technology (DST), West Bengal.
  3. University Grants Commission (UGC) Minor Research Project.

 

For research on animals, there is one animal house facility in the college, and to monitor this, there is an “Institutional Animal Ethics Committee” registered under CPCSEA, Govt. of India.
