About the Department

Department of Education was introduced from the beginning of the College in the year 1961.At that time only general course was taught. Honours in Education was introduced in the year 1986.CBCS course has been introduced from the academic session of 2018-19.Now Department of Education is teaching 55 Honours students in each semester with four permanent highly qualified and experienced faculties. Our aim is to impart good quality of education and make our students responsible citizen. Faculties always extend their sincere support to students.

B.A. (Hons) Education: What is about?

Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons} (Education) course introduces the early childhood education, professionalism and planning intentional developmentally appropriate experiences for each child, and the diverse educational settings for young children. Major topics in this course include: Theoretical foundations, National early learning standards, NC foundations for early learning and development, State regulations, Program types, Professionalism, Ethical conduct, Quality inclusive environments, and Research & Innovations.

This course also includes the theories of child development, assessment, and observation, milestones and factors that develop from conception. Students will able to compare typical developmental characteristics. Based on emphasis, students will learn knowledge, assessment, and observation of developmental sequences in approaches to play or learn health or physical, emotional or social, language or communication, and cognitive domains.

 

 

B.A. (Hons) Education: Career Prospects

Graduates in this field, work in areas like central government departments, museums, community and voluntary organizations, social services, the police and probation services, and universities. They may also get opportunities with both private and public sectors in a range of careers such as retail management, HR, publishing, market and policy research, career guidance and education psychology.

Admission Criteria

Honours course - For General/OBC candidates, minimum 50% in aggregate and 45% in subject OR 55% in Education subject and SC/ST candidates, minimum 40%in Education subject.
