Rabindra Jayanti
Department of English has celebrated ' Rabindra Jayanti ' on 6th May, 2022 to mark the Birth Anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore. The whole programme has been conducted by the students of the Department . Respected Principal Madam , the Faculty and Students from the Department have paid homage to the great poet through short lecture, recitation poem, songs, dances and playing flute .

Alina Basak, Student of Rammohan College, Semester –VI has presented paper on the topic entitled ‘A Brief Study on the Honour Killing and Gender Equality in India’ in the One Day International Seminar organised by Department of Education, Gokhale Memorial Girls’ Coellge, Kolkata in collaboration with Department of Education, Dwijendralal College Krishnagar at Gokhale Memorial Girls’ College.
Shreosi Roy Chowdhury , Student of Dept. Of English, Rammohan College , Sem-VI, has presented paperentitled ‘Popular Culture in Textual Practice’ Organised by the Department of English, Sister Nivedita University (Kolkata) on 28th May,2022.
Students from the Department of English have organised Teachers’ Day on 5th September through culural programme to show their respect to the teachers. This Programme has tighten the bond between studnts and the Teachers.

Note on the Webinar
The Department of English in collaboration with the IQAC, Rammohan College (Affiliated to the University of Calcutta), Kolkata organized an online lecture series on 5th, 7th and 8th October 2021. This online lecture series was held with an intention to provide the students with an in depth and resourceful knowledge about the different areas of their study through the lectures of some eminent teachers and scholars of repute. The complete schedule of the series is enclosed herewith.

Note on the Seminar
The Department of English in collaboration with the IQAC, Rammohan College (Affiliated to the University of Calcutta), Kolkata organized a One Day Students’ Seminar on “The Border and the Beyond: Literature, Culture and Society” on 13th May 2022. Through different papers and academic discussions prepared and participated by the students, this seminar sought to explore the various connotations of boundaries or borders and man’s continuous attempt and struggle to defy the limits set by the society and go beyond those. In this attempt, the seminar aimed to critically analyze different literary texts; social, historical, political narratives; movies, art works, theories and etc to argue this broad concept of ‘the border and the beyond.’ The complete schedule of the seminar is enclosed herewith.
