The Department of Physiology, Rammohan College came into existence from the beginning of the College in 1961 as pass course undergraduate programme. In 1980, Physiology Honours was introduced.
After 25 years of successful teaching of Physiology (Hons.) at the undergraduate level from 1980, the University of Calcutta has extended affiliation to Rammohan College for teaching “M.Sc in Human Physiology" course in the year 2006. From then, this course is successfully continuing during day-time and on a Co-educational basis.

Students of the Postgraduate section regularly participate in state, National and International level Seminars,workshops and Conferences
The Department also organize Workshops ,Seminars by renowned Scientists and Faculty of repute
Regular Students seminars for training of Dissertation Presentation are carried out in the Department, specially for the 4th Semester Students
Students of Mid-semester go out on Study Tour for practical exposure and Training of Project work
The Department offers Project/Dissertation work to a substantial number of students who get the facility to work in the Research Laboratories of the Department
The Departmental students and teachers together celebrate important occasions like Students welcome ceremony,Farewell for outgoing batch,Teachers Day,Rabindra Jayanti,Science day, Reunion and Convocation (for the years applicable)
Importantly the students and teachers of the Department themselves participate in the programme at all sectors as talent.
