General Rules & Regulations

  1. Lending is restricted to the books available at lending section only. A Student can take one [1] book at a time for seven [7] days against BOOK HOME ISSUE CARD.
  2. A student can reissue the book for another seven [7] days if she submit the book within scheduled date and if there is no such demand for the said book.
  3. A student can reissue the book for maximum two (2) times.
  4. Students are not allowed to borrow books on the card of other members.
  5. A fine of Rs.1.00 will be charged per book per day.
  6. Books lost, damaged in any other way shall be replaced by the borrower.
  7. Books lent out to the students may be recalled at any time by the Librarian.
  8. Loss of Library Cards must immediately be reported to the Librarian in writing, failing which the student concerned will be held responsible for all subsequent misuse of the same.
  9. A fine of Rs.30/- will be charged for issuing a duplicate Library Card.
  10. No student can enter the Library without Library Card.
  11. General Reference Books (e.g. dictionary, encyclopedia), Subject Reference Books, Magazines, Newspapers etc. are not allowed to issue for home. Members may consult these within the Library with special permission.
  12. Books lost, damaged or injured in any other way shall be replaced by the same copy/ any other copy mentioned in Calcutta university current syllabus as prescribed reading column by borrower.
  13. Photocopying services shall be available for the readers against payment of Rs.1.00/- per page.
  14. Library Clearance would not be issued without Library Cards.
  15. Complete discipline and silence must be maintained in the Library. Gossiping, sleeping and using Mobile phone shall be treated as cases of misconduct.
